Helping facilitate better relationships through my healing methods

I am deeply passionate about working with children, young people, and parents using alternative therapies alongside counselling and psychotherapy because I believe in the power of holistic, person-centred healing.

My approach recognises that not all wounds can be expressed in words, especially when trauma has been stored in the body from a young age. This is why I integrate creative methods such as art and play, walking therapy, and body-based (somatic) practices such as EFT to support emotional release and self-discovery.

Inner child work is central to my practice, helping individuals reconnect with parts of themselves that were silenced or neglected, and creating space for healing through compassion and attuned presence. I strive to build safe, empathetic relationships where people feel seen and accepted just as they are, and where different forms of communication are honoured as valid and healing. I especially recognise this as a need for both the neurodiverse community and people who have experienced trauma.

Communication and feeling safe in both body and mind are essential for relationships whether that be with ourselves, children or partners and I strive to help facilitate better relationships through my healing methods above.

Here’s some more information about my healing methods:

Who: Great for children under 12

Where: Face-to-face in one of my calming welcoming spaces

What: This utilises creative expression for self-discovery and emotional healing.

About: In my approach to children’s art and play therapy, I integrate seven expressive methods: poetry, puppetry, play, painting, movement, sand tray, and music, to support emotional exploration, self-expression, and healing in a safe and creative environment.

Who: Great for older children aged 12-15

Where: Outdoors among the natural beauty of the Cotswolds

What: This is conducted outdoors and combines physical activity with nature to enhance mindfulness and reduce stress.

About: In walking therapy with older children, I combine the therapeutic benefits of movement and nature with gentle conversation, allowing thoughts and feelings to emerge more freely in a calming, non-clinical setting, allowing for a non-directive approach. It’s especially beneficial for those children with Neurodiversity.

Who: Great for 16 to 25 and parents/carers, and used across all of my approaches

Where: Online or face-to-face

What:  Provides a confidential space where you can explore your feelings, challenges, and goals as you navigate this exciting but sometimes overwhelming stage of life.

About: This involves verbal communication to explore thoughts and emotions, especially for young people who are transitioning into new or different settings such as further education or working life.

In addition to this, dyadic* work, often applied in couples or family therapy focuses on the dynamics between two individuals to improve understanding and connection.

*Dyadic means a session with parent and child together to support connection and communication

Who: Great for 16-25 and parents

Where: Face-to-face or online

What: Support emotional healing by helping you tune into the body, not just the mind

About: Alongside talking, I use somatic (body-based) therapies to help you connect with how emotions show up physically, like tension, restlessness, or feeling disconnected, which is especially beneficial for clients’ experiencing symptoms such as OCD. These approaches gently support regulation and healing by tuning into the body, not just the mind. Techniques might include grounding exercises, breathwork, movement, or EFT (Tapping), depending on what feels right for you.

Who: Typically for 18+ and parents (and can be used across my approaches)

Where: Face-to-face or online

What: A deeper space to explore how your past and inner patterns shape your present, supporting long-term emotional growth and healing.

About: I can use psychotherapy to help you explore not just what’s happening right now, but also the deeper patterns, past experiences, or relationships that might be shaping how you feel and respond to the world. It’s a space to slow down and really get to know yourself. Through reflection and gentle guidance, I can support you in making sense of your emotions and creating lasting change from the inside out.

Who: Suitable for 16-25 and parents
Where: Face-to-face or online
What: A compassionate approach that helps you connect with the younger parts of yourself to support healing, self-understanding, and lasting emotional growth.

About: I use inner child work to help you gently explore the roots of current emotional patterns, often shaped by early experiences or unmet needs. This approach offers a supportive way to reconnect with younger parts of yourself and create space for healing, self-compassion, and change.

Who: Suitable across my practice across all ages
Where: Face-to-face or online
What: I use attachment-based therapy to help strengthen emotional bonds and improve the quality of relationships between individuals and their caregivers or significant others.

About: It is based on attachment theory, which suggests that early experiences with caregivers influence how people form relationships, manage emotions, and cope with stress. In my work, I aim to identify and repair insecure or disrupted attachment patterns, enhance emotional regulation, improve relationship skills, and provide corrective emotional experiences. I often work with children, young people, and adults who have experienced trauma, neglect, or difficulties in forming healthy relationships.
